What’s the difference between proofreading and revising?

Proofreading

Proofreading involves correcting spelling and grammar errors in a text. In this case, the text is not edited for style and is not checked against the original.

Revision

Revising involves reworking the translation to improve readability. The translation is also compared with the original text to ensure that it fully reflects the meaning of the original. Certain passages may be rewritten if necessary.
